Duplicate File Cleaner is an application that searches and deletes duplicate files. It is specially intended to search for specific content, like duplicated music files, pictures, Outlook email messages, and video files, besides the regular duplicate file searching. You can select multiple folders and criteria (same name, size, date, similar name, etc.).
The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 2.5
Duplicate File Cleaner is an application that searches and deletes duplicate files. It is specially intended to search for specific content, like duplicated music files, pictures, Outlook email messages, and video files, besides the regular duplicate file searching. You can select multiple folders and criteria (same name, size, date, similar name, etc.).
The pictures duplicate search is supposed to find “similar” images, i.e., the same image varying in size or with small changes. Unfortunately, it did not work so well in the tests. The user interface lacks some flexibility, since it is not possible to maximize the window, and it makes it hard to work with many files. Other than that, the interface is very clean, simple to use, and user-friendly.
This program allows moving files to the recycler bin, simple deletion, or even complete pulverization of files (complete deletion). It has also some more advanced options, allowing synchronization of files and erasing junk files. You always have the possibility to preview a file before deleting it.
The new version 2.5 offers the possibility to synchronize files, compare folders, and clean junk files. A history function was also added. |
